East Midlands Airport offers several convenient options for dropping off or picking up passengers. Choose the Short Stay car park for easy access, or opt for the free Long Stay car park as an alternative. Both locations accommodate pick-ups and drop-offs. For the quickest option, the Rapid Drop-Off area is conveniently located right in front of the terminal building.

Since Thursday, 1 May 2025, we introduced a new barrierless system at our Rapid Drop Off zone, designed to make your journey quicker and more convenient.

To make journeys even easier, we recommend that customers create an Autopay account to enable automatic payments each time they use Rapid Drop Off.

Pick up or drop off

Follow signs for 'Short Stay Car Park'.

You can pick up or drop off in the Short Stay 1 car park. This is ideal if you want to accompany passengers or head into the terminal to meet someone.

Blue Badge parking is available at Short Stay 1 car park (Free for first 30 minutes), where blue badge parking bays are clearly identifiable. Short Stay 1 can only be accessed by walking to/from the terminal, but should you require a wheelchair or further assistance, help points are located in all car parks.

How can I pay for my visit to a Rapid Drop Off?

You can pay online, or by phone: 03452 221517.

Payments cannot be made using cash or cheque. Additionally, payments for Rapid Drop Off areas cannot be made upon exiting, as there are no payment barriers in this area.

If payment is not received by midnight the following day, a £100 Parking Charge will be issued, which will be reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.

How long will I have to pay for my visit to Rapid Drop-Off?

Payment must be made by midnight the day after you visit to ensure a Parking Charge is not sent to the registered vehicle holder.

How do I pre-register an account?

Yes, you can set up an account and add a payment card, which will automatically take payment after each journey through Rapid Drop Off. To do this, please visit the payment portal.

Please note it is your responsibility to ensure there is a valid payment method on your account before using Rapid Drop Off.

What happens if I forget to pay?

If you do not pre-register or pay as a guest before midnight the next day, a Parking Charge will be sent to the registered vehicle holder.

Can I pay in advance for my visit to Rapid Drop Off?

No, payment can only be made after you have visited Rapid Drop Off at East Midlands Airport. To avoid a parking charge, payment must be made by midnight the day after your visit. Alternatively, you can create an account and add a payment card to enable automatic payments for each of your journeys. You can create an account by visiting the payment portal.

I am unable to pay for my visit to Rapid Drop Off online what do I do?
